Mehbooba calls police officer’s killing ‘murder of trust’, warns of consequences
Srinagar: Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti on Friday denounced the lynching of a senior police officer here and said the crime was a “murder of trust”.
Paying tributes to Deputy Superintendent Mohammad Ayub Pandit, lynched outside a mosque on Thursday night, she said: “The murder is actually a murder of trust. The officer had allowed his guards to go home. Let me caution all and sundry that do not stretch the patient of men in uniform beyond a point or else be prepared to face the consequences,” she warned.
“Jammu and Kashmir has one of the finest police forces in the country who exercise maximum restraint while dealing with law and order situation,” she added.
