Army foils yet another infiltration bid on LoC in J&K’s Keran sector

Srinagar: A day after four terrorists including two Pakistan nationals were gunned down by the security forces in the Kashmir valley, the alert Indian Army foiled yet another infiltration bid on the Line of Control (LoC) in Jammu and Kashmir’s Kupwara district.

According to Defence Ministry spokesman Colonel Rajesh Kalia said here: “The infiltration bid was foiled in the Keran sector on Monday night.

He said that on noticing suspicious movement at the LoC, the Indian troops challenged the infiltrators.”A fter brief exchange of fire, the infiltrating terrorists were forced to withdraw and in the process they left behind two AK-47 rifles, four magazines, 60 rounds of ammunition, and one pistol,” said the defence spokesman adding that an intensive search operation was still on in the sector.

It may be mentioned here that on Monday, the security forces achieved a major success when the neutralised Jais-e-Mohammad operation chief in Kashmir, Abu Khalid, a Pakistan national. He was active in the Kashmir valley for over seven years, said sources.
