BSF retaliates, kills at least 10 Pakistani Rangers in Jammu’s Samba sector

Jammu: In a strong retaliation to unprovoked Pakistan aggression in which a Border Security Force (BSF) jawan was martyred in firing at the international border (IB) in Samba sector of Jammu on Wednesday, at least 10 to 12 Pakistan rangers were killed late on Wednesday night by the BSF.

He said the intermittent firing was on at the IB in the Samba and Arnia sectors

According to reports, strongly retaliating to unprovoked firing by the Pakistan forces, the BSF targeted Pakistani positions from where mortars were fired in which a BSF head constable RP Hazara was martyred in Samba sector.

Confirming the retaliatory firing by the BSF, a senior BSF official said that Pakistani positions from where the mortars were fired by the Pakistani forces were targeted in a measured way. “We can confirm that two Pakistani positions were indeed smashed from where mortars were fired and also the enemy positions suffered immense damage but the loss of lives is still to be assessed,” said the official.

On the other hand, the BSF on Thursday foiled an infiltration attempt by terrorists and in the process succeeded in killing one of the infiltrating terrorist.

Alert troops noticed suspicious movement of two to three persons near the Nikowal border outpost in Arnia sector around 5.45 am. When challenged, the intruders resorted to firing and in a retaliatory firing, one of the infiltrator was killed and the remaining ones managed to escape back to Pakistan.” said the official.

He said the intermittent firing was on at the IB in the Samba and Arnia sector.
