IAF Sukhoi-30 fighter jet crashes in Barmer, pilots safe
Jaisalmer: An Indian Air Force Sukhoi-30 MKI fighter aircraft on Wednesday afternoon crashed in Barmer district of Rajasthan.
According to reports, the incident occurred in Shivkar Kudla village of Barmer district when the fighter aircraft crash landed on a house injuring three persons who received burn injuries. They all were rushed to the district hospital where they all were stated to be out of danger.
However, before the fighter aircraft crash landed, both the pilots ejected safely.
According to defence spokesman, the Sukhoi aircraft crashed near Barmer while on a routine training sortie and had taken off from Jodhpur. It had developed some technical snag and a court of inquiry has been instituted to ascertain the cause of mishap.
Immediately after the mishap, Air force and police officials rushed to the spot and cordoned off the area.
Meanwhile, earlier in the day, a Chetak helicopter of the Indian Air Force crash landed in Uttar Pradesh, moments after it took off from an airbase on the outskirts of Allahabad.
No casualties have been reported, said a defence official.
