Indian Army destroys Pakistani post in J&K’s Mendhar sector

Jammu: The Indian Army on Thursday destroyed a Pakistani post along the Line of Control (LoC) in Mendhar sector of Jammu and Kashmir’s Poonch district.

Till reports last came in, heavy exchange of fire was on in the area

Sources said that the troops targeted the Pakistani post which was being used by the Pakistani Army to provide cover fire to infiltrating terrorists.

According to unconfirmed reports, at least two dozen Pakistan Army personnel were killed in the targeted attack by the Indian Army.

Meanwhile, ceasefire violation by the Pakistan Army was also reported from Uri and Kupwara sectors.

“Pakistan army resorted to unprovoked firing at Indian positions at 8 am. After which our positions retaliated effectively,” Defence Ministry spokesman Colonel Rajesh Kalia said.

Later in the evening, the Pakistan Army started unprovoked firing at Indian positions in Kupwara district.

Till reports last came in, heavy exchange of fire was on in the area.
