Pakistan violates ceasefire at LoC J&K’s Poonch yet again
Jammu: The Pakistan Army on Monday morning again resorted to unprovoked shelling and firing at Indian positions on the Line of Control in Poonch district.
Using 82 mm mortars and automatic weapons, the Pakistan Army violated the ceasefire, said Army spokesperson Lt Col Manish Mehta.
He said that the Pakistan shelling and firing started at 6.40 am and the Indian troops were “effectively responding”.
He further said that intermittent firing exchanges were still on.
However, no casualty or damage has so far been reported from the Indian side, added the defence spokesman.
It may be mentioned here that the Pakistan Army had violated the ceasefire on Sunday too in the Krishna Ghati and Chakan Da Bagh sectors.
During the course of unprovoked firing from across the LoC, a mortar fired by the Pakistan Army landed and exploded inside the trade facilitation centre in Chakan Da Bagh on Sunday resulting in minor damage to one of the buildings there.
The trade facilitation centre at Chakan Da Bagh is the nerve centre of the cross LoC trade between India and Pakistan.
