Pakistan violates ceasefire in J&K’s Poonch, heavy firing on at LoC

Jammu: In order to divert people’s attention from the aggressive posturing by the United states against Pakistan’s open support to terror groups operating from their soil, Pakistan resorted to heavy firing at the Line of Control (LOC) in Poonch sector of Jammu and Kashmir, violating the ceasefire with impunity.

The extent of damage or casualty on the Pakistani side is not known

According to Defence Ministry sources, the Indian Army responded to Pakistan’s aggression with equal aggression as heavy firing was on in Shahpur area.

An official said, “we retaliated strongly and effectively. No damage or casualty has been reported from our side.”

The extent of damage or casualty on the Pakistani side is not known, said sources.

Earlier on Thursday, the Border Security Force (BSF) foiled a futile bid by terrorists to sneak into Jammu and Kashmir from Pakistan on the international border in Arnia sector of Jammu district and in the process a intruding terrorist was killed and the remaining ones manged to flee back to Pakistan.

Apart from it, the BSF also destroyed two Pakistani positions from where mortars were fired in which a BSF jawan was martyred. Unconfirmed reports said that at least 10 to 12 Pakistan Rangers were killed in the retaliatory BSF firing.
