Sadhu Yadav to contest against sister Rabri Devi from Saran
Patna: RJD president Lalu Prasad’s brother-in-law Anirudh Prasad alias Sadhu Yadav on Tuesday declared that he would contest the ensuing Lok Sabha polls from Saran as an independent against his sister Rabri Devi.
“I will contest form Saran Lok Sabha election as an independent,” said Sadhu Yadav.
On being questioned about the reason for fighting the poll against his sister, Yadav said “I will reveal everything in front of public during election.”
When asked if it was not a surprising decision to have a political battle within the family, Yadav said “in politics its a common feature.”
The surprise declaration by Sadhu Yadav to enter into the poll fray from Saran could spell trouble for Rabri Devi, feel observers.
This is the constituency from where her husband Lalu Prasad entered into electoral politics winning the parliamentary election for the first time in 1977 and held the seat in the 15the Lok Sabha before disqualified ecently after conviction in a fodder scam case.
Rabri Devi is already facing a stiff challenge from senior BJP leader Rajiv Pratap Rudy.
In the previous elections, Sadhu Yadav had unsuccessfully fought that election as Congress candidate from Bettiah. Congress also removed him recently after he met Gujarat chief minister Narendra Modi.
