Soldier martyred, child killed in fresh Pakistan shelling on LoC in J&K

Jammu: Visibly shaken by its terror proxies operating in the Kashmir Valley failing terribly, the desperate Pakistan Army on Monday morning resorted to fresh ceasefire violation in Poonch and Rajouri districts in which a seven-year-old girl was killed and a soldier martyred.

Firing exchanges were on the two sector and the Indian Army has been retaliating strongly and effectively

According to Defence Ministry spokesman Lt Col Manish Mehta said that the Pakistani troops shelled and fired along the Line of Control (LoC) in Balakote and Manjakote of sectors of Poonch and Rajouri.

The seven-years-old girl, identified as Saida of Balakote in Poonch district, died when she was hit by a Pakistani shell.

On the other hand a soldier was killed in Manjakote sector of Rajouri district’s Tarkundi area.

Further details are awaited.

Defence Ministry spokesman Lt Col Manish Mehta said the firing exchanges were on the two sector and the Indian Army has been retaliating strongly and effectively.

Meanwhile, the Directors General of Military Operation of India and Pakistan held talks on Monday over the repeated exchange of fire along the LoC in Jammu and Kashmir, during which the Indian side pointed out that all the ceasefire violations were being initiated by the Pakistan Army.

The Indian DGMO highlighted that “all ceasefire violations were initiated by the Pakistan Army and the Indian Army only responded appropriately,” an army statement said.

The Indian DGMO also put across emphatically that the “trend of infiltration along the LoC continued with the active support of Pakistan forward posts.”
