Terrorists fire, critically injure two civilians in J&K’s Shopian

Srinagar: Terrorists groups active in the Kashmir valley are out to inculcate sense of fear in the minds of locals as they on Saturday fired at two civilians in Pulwama district, critically injuring them, said an official.

Injured persons were rushed to a hospital where the doctors referred them to Srinagar hospital

According to reports, terrorists attacked two civilians, identified as Aijaz Ahmad Mir and Shiraz Ahmad Malik in Trenz village of Shopian.

Sources said that the civilians were targeted on suspicion of they being informers of the security apparatus.

A police official said that the injured persons were rushed to a hospital where the doctors referred them to Srinagar hospital for specialized treatment.

The police official said that though no group has owned responsibility for the attack, the investigators were trying to identity the assailants who are believed to be members of Pakistan based terror outfit Jais-e-Mohammad.
