Three terrorists including two Pakistani killed in J&K’s Badgam encounter

Srinagar: Security forces on Monday succeeded in killing three terrorists in a fierce encounter that lasted for over 12 hours in Badgam district of Jammu and Kashmir.

He said that the encounter has ended but a search operation was still on in the area

According to a senior police official, among the three slain terrorists were two Pakistani nationals whereas the third one was a local.

He said that on Monday morning the security forces on receiving tip off about presence of some terrorists in Kaneera village, swung into action and laid a cordon and search operation.

The police official said that the security forces comprising the Rashtriya Rifles, Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) and the Special Operations Group of the police cordoned off the village and as they closed in, the hiding terrorists resorted to indiscriminate firing to break the security cordon, triggering a fierce encounter.

“Encounter continued through the day and in the process two terrorists were killed whereas a third terrorist managed to sneak into a nearby house in Kaneera village but luck ran out and he too was neutralised,” said the police official.

He said that the encounter has ended but a search operation was still on in the area.
