Two Pakistani soldiers killed in retaliatory fire, heavy firing across LoC

Jammu: Two Pakistani soldiers were killed in a retaliatory firing by India along the Line of Control (LoC) in south of Pir Panjal range in Poonch district, on late Wednesday night.

Heavy shelling and firing exchanges were going on in Balakote and Manjakote areas

According to defence sources, heavy firing exchanges erupted on Thursday on the Line of Control (LoC) in Rajouri district after killing of two Pakistani soldiers in retaliatory firing by the Indian side overnight.

Heavy shelling and firing exchanges were going on in Balakote and Manjakote areas of the LoC in Rajouri, defence sources said.

“After the Pakistani Army resorted to unprovoked shelling and firing in Manjakote and Balakote sectors, our positions retaliated effectively,” sources added.

Meanwhile, Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR), Pakistani Army’s publicity wing has confirmed the casualties and identified the slain soldiers in its website as sepoy Muneer Chohan (32) and sepoy Amir Hussain (28).
