UP government shifts 67 IPS officers
Lucknow: In a yet another administrative reshuffle, the Yogi Adityanath government in Uttar Pradesh transferred 67 IPS officers on Wednesday.
Among those transferred on Wednesday are ADG (Police Recruitment and Promotion Board) SN Sawat, who has been made ADG of the Allahabad zone.
Apart from it, several SP to DIG rank officers have been transferred or freshly posted to various districts including Allahabad, Bareilly, Jhansi, Hamirpur, Baghpat, Lalitpur, Maharajganj and Etah, in the reshuffle today.
Inspector General of Police, Technical, Ramit Sharma has been posted as the new IGP, Allahabad. JK Shukla, the Superintendent of Police, law and order has been posted as the SSP Jhansi, while Anand Kulkarni has been named as the new district police chief of Allahabad.
Salman Taj Patil, who was posted in Ghaziabad, has been named as the new Superintendent of Police, Lalitpur, and Rakesh Prakash Singh, the new SP of Maharajganj.
The latest round of reshuffle is aimed at streamlining the law and order machinery to curb the incidents of crime in the state.
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath had on Tuesday said in the Assembly that criminals will not enjoy any political patronage and strict action will be taken against them.
The statement from the chief minister came in wake of the opposition parties raising the issue of gunning down of two jewellers in Mathura.
