BSF unearths 14-foot-long tunnel in J&K’s Arnia sector, foil infiltration bid

Jammu: Defeating the nefarious design of the Pakistan Army again, the alert Border Security Force (BSF) on Saturday unearthed a 14-foot long tunnel along the International border in Arnia sector of the state.

The tunnel was being dug from the Pakistani side along the international border

A senior police official said that the BSF had intensified the patrol on the border following a series of ceasefire violations in the Jammu region. “Sensing some kind of trouble, the BSF intensified the vigil and during the course of sanitisation process, a 14-foot long tunnel was dected,” said the official.

He said that the tunnel was being dug from the Pakistani side along the international border and from there the forces recovered “war-like” store, indicating presence of terrorists who were waiting for an opportune time to sneak in but sensing trouble, they managed to retreat and escaped being caught.

The police official said that the under-construction tunnel in question was detected along the international border between Vikram and Patel posts near Damana.

He said that the forces were on a high alert to foil any possible infiltration attempt by the terrorists from across the border.
