Mulayam no more a ‘star campaigner’ for SP

Lucknow: So, Mulayam Singh Yadav is no more the most sought after campaigner for the party he himself formed as in the ensuing Lok Sabha polls his name is missing from list of star campaigners released for the 2019 Lok Sabha election.

To the utter disbelief of many a party insiders, the list included names of party chief Akhilesh Yadav, Ram Gopal Yadav, Azam Khan, Dimple Yadav, Jaya Bachchan but Mulayam Singh Yadav’s name is missing.

Meanwhile, Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav will contest the Lok Sabha election from Azamgarh seat. Party’s Muslim face, Azam Khan will enter the poll fray from Rampur constituency.

Notably, Azamgarh is the parliamentary constituency of Akhilesh’s father Mulayam Singh Yadav.

The voting in Azamgarh will be held on May 12.

However, Mulayam Singh will contest from Mainpuri which in the present Lok Sabha is represented by his nephew and Lalu Prasad’s son-in-lwa Tej Pratap Yadav.

Akhilesh Yadav’s wife, Dimple Yadav will contest from Kannauj. While Mainpuri will vote on April 23, polling in Kannauj will be conducted on April 29.
