Slain JeM terrorist Mudasir was key Pulwama terror attack conspirator

Srinagar: It was a big success for the security forces as one of the three Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM) terrorists killed in an overnight encounter that ended on Monday included the key conspirators of Pulwama terror attack in which 40 CRPF troopers were killed.

Though the encounter has ended, a search was still on in the area by the security forces

A senior police official said that the key Pulwama terror attack conspirator Mudasir Khan alias Muhammad Bhai, was from Midoora village in Tral area. He was one of the three terrorists killed in a gun battle in Pinglish village that started on Sunday evening.

Among the remaining two neutralised terrorists was a Pakistani code-named Khalid. He, too was one of the top JeM terrorists operating in the Kashmir valley. Whereas, the third one was a local terrorist.

“Pertinently, investigation so far conducted revealed that Mudasir was one of the key conspirators of the Pulwama attack,” a police statement said.

“Based on incriminating material recovered from the site of the encounter, it is understood that one of the other three killed terrorist was a Pakistani national code-named Khalid,” it added.

Though the encounter has ended, a search was still on in the area by the security forces.

All the three slain terrorists were affiliated with the Pakistan based terror outfit JeM, headed by Masood Azhar. The security forces were on the lookout for them as they were wanted for a series of crimes including attacks on security establishments and atrocities on civilians.

The family of Mudasir Khan identified his body. They handed over the body and  were allowed to carry out the burial of the slain terrorist.

It may be mentioned here that the house in which the terrorists were hiding was destroyed in the operation by the security forces.
